5Star Life’s flagship product, The Family Protection Plan (FPP) was developed to address the shortcomings of the employer paid group life insurance while enhancing group health insurance by providing a Critical Illness Benefit upon diagnosis of heart attack, stroke, life-threatening cancer, cardiac bypass surgery, or any terminal condition. The Family Protection Plan offers a guaranteed level premium to age 100 and maintains a level death benefit to age 100 based on current factors.
The FPP is sold as a money purchase plan based on weekly premiums of $4, $5, $6, $7 and $8. This plan is field unwritten with six medical questions and does not require any medical requirements.
The FPP provides employees a “post retirement” option that is totally portable after leaving employment not found in traditional group plans. The plan is also made available to the employee’s spouse, children and grandchildren, without the employee participating.
The Individual Family Protection Plan (FPP-I) is identical to the Family Protection Plan but was developed for Association and Affinity Groups on a direct bill bases. However, the FPP-I is also available for payroll deduction and can be used to provide the employee and option to purchase up to $100,000 of Term to 100 Coverage. Because this plan offers the same simplified underwriting as the FPP, it is only available for “mass marketing” and should not be sold directly to individuals.
Coverage amounts are available for $25,000, $50,000, $75,000 and $100,000 increments.
Executive Level Plans can be sold to any employee that desires affordable 10, 20 and 30 Year Level Term life insurance up to $1,000,000 in face amount. Group Life and AD&D – Competitive employer paid group life can be quoted on a case-by-case basis. Guarantee issue limits vary by group size. Minimum group size is 3 employees.
